Against Progress

... Yet according to the Set America Free Coalition an unprecedented alliance made up of senior US security experts, labor unions and environmentalist groups ...if the US wished it could, for the mere cost of $12 billion over the next four years, move rapidly to end its dependency on foreign oil by developing alternatives to fossil fuel like ethanol and methanol and subsidizing hybrid cars that run on a mix of oil and electricity.

The fact that to date, the Bush administration's energy policy involves securing its access to foreign oil, building more refineries and drilling in Alaska, shows clearly that the president and his advisers have yet to decide to deal with Saudi Arabia in a serious manner.

Comment: Robert Kriegsman said: The Islamo-Terrorists are worse than the Soviet empire or Communism as they get their seed money and indoctrination from Saudi Arabia and its Gulf satellites' petro dollars. We have two President Bushes who are in bed with the Saudi's and a incompetent press which is oblivious to all this.
The Bushes will keep us tied to their oil for a long time to come, Alaska's Anwar notwithstanding, is a proverbial "oil drop in the bucket".(Reagan-era Frank Gaffney, who is certainly no member of Green Peace can back me on this:

Electricity

To the Top

Tremendous progress has been made with the development of electrical vehicles. A review of 50 models that can be purchased can be found at,
http://www.electriccars.com

Electric cars do not have to deal with: Faulty water pumps, hoses, radiator leaks, oil burning, oil smell, oil leaks, running out of gas, fuel pumps, fuel injectors, carburetors, burned valves, worn lifters, loud exhaust, emissions, catalytic converters, worn starters, spark plugs, fuel filters, bad distributor wires, distributor caps, rotors, ECM brains, broken rings, scored pistons, warped heads, head gaskets, antifreeze, and dependence on oil...

Facts about electric vehicles

Why go Electric?

  • Electric Vehicles, or EVs, are 97% cleaner than gas-powered cars. This includes the emissions from the electric power plant.

  • EVs fill a perfect niche in the urban commute car market, where the range is short and the need for non-polluting cars is the greatest.

  • EVs require less maintenance than gas powered cars.

  • EVs are quiet, minimizing sound pollution.

  • EVs will help reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Gasses

To the Top

Gasses are much cheaper than gasoline and diesel!

Biogas

Biogas, also called digester gas, typically refers to methane produced by the fermentation of organic matter including manure, wastewater sludge, municipal solid waste, or any other biodegradable feedstock, under anaerobic conditions.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biogas

The typical cost to convert a passenger car or truck to natural gas or propane is usually around $2,000, but many incentives are available that reduce this cost substantially. Sometimes these local and federal incentives will actually pay for the entire conversion cost!  For small engines (like for lawnmowers the average cost of our most popular kits is between $130.00 and $250.00.
